The Healthier 901 Program Director plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's mission through strategic community engagement, impactful partnerships, and dynamic event execution. This position is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and expansion of Healthier 901, a community initiative that promote wellness and weight loss throughout the Mid-South. With a strong focus on relationship-building and program scalability, the director oversees signature events, drives integrated marketing efforts and supports fundraising initiatives. This role requires a visionary leader with exceptional organizational skills, a passion for community impact, and the ability to deliver high-quality experiences that align with system-wide goals. This position will work within the Marketing, Communications and Web Strategy department and models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

A Brief Overview
The Healthier 901 Program Director plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's mission through strategic community engagement, impactful partnerships, and dynamic event execution. This position is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and expansion of Healthier 901, a community initiative that promote wellness and weight loss throughout the Mid-South. With a strong focus on relationship-building and program scalability, the director oversees signature events, drives integrated marketing efforts and supports fundraising initiatives. This role requires a visionary leader with exceptional organizational skills, a passion for community impact, and the ability to deliver high-quality experiences that align with system-wide goals. This position will work within the Marketing, Communications and Web Strategy department and models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do

  • Leads the strategic growth and implentation of the Healthier 901 program, a community weight loss initiative powered by Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, with a focus on expanding awareness and driving user engagement.
  • Collaborates with the MLH Foundation to help identify, cultivate and secure high-value partnerships with community organizations, sponsors, and business leaders.
  • Designs and implements scalable outreach strategies that align with program goals and community health priorities.
  • Oversees planning and execution of annual Healthier 901 Fest, from initial planning to day-of execution, with a focus on increasing attendance and program registration.
  • Collaborates with internal departments and community-based organizations to maintain a strong presence that enhances program visibility, fosters engagement, and strengthens strategic partnerships within the community.
  • Develops and executes user engagement strategies that increase retention and behavior change among registered participants.
  • Produces educational content and promotional materials across digital and traditional platforms to support community growth and new partner activations.
  • Utilizes community feedback and data-driven insights to refine program offerings, identify engagement trends, and tailor outreach strategies to participant needs.
  • Manages program budgets, timelines, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Serves as the lead coordinator for cross-functional work in the development of integrated marketing, digital and communication strategies with an emphasis on growth.
  • Serves as a visible and trusted representative of the organization in both community and business settings, actively engaging in public speaking and advocacy to promote the program’s mission, build awareness, and foster goodwill and long-term relationships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic objectives of the organization.


Education Qualifications

  • Required - Bachelor's Degree Marketing
  • Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Business
  • Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Communications
  • Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Public Relations

Experience Qualifications

  • Required - Business, marketing, communications, nonprofit management, development or related field 7-9 years
  • Preferred - Experience leading and managing a community health initiative. Prior experience in large-scale project management or event planning.

Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of marketing, communications, and business development principles, with a focus on community-centric initiatives.
  • Proven expertise in community engagement, partnership development, and strategic relationship management.
  • Experience working with foundations, sponsors, and/or philanthropic organizations to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Proven experience with the planning and execution of large-scale community events, including logistics and promotional activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups, including internal teams, external partners, and community organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Highly organized, innovative, and adaptable, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in budget management and performance tracking for community-based programs.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and present strategic plans to senior leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn and apply new digital tools and platforms.

Supervision Provided by this Position

  • This position will have no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate may occasionally work outside, potentially in extreme weather and/or heat. Job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
  • Frequent travel outside of hospital.
